Description

Time and Place

Percussion workshop with Djembes - Numbers will be limited by avaialble drums so bring you own if you can.I should be able to bring 10 drums hopefully depending on the space I have in my transport. An evening performance from the days workshop would bee good for the burning man and fyre dancers.

Saturday just after lunch would be good

THE TANIWHA 200 - Bathurst,The indy-500,Tour de France, and now The Taniwha 200 as South Waikato joins the ranks of sporting events par excellence.Just when you thought it was safe to rest on your laurels and soak up the atmosphere at Kiwiburn09 the Taniwha 200 shakes things up with the most outrageous sporting event Kiwiburn has ever seen! The Taniwha 200 is a mutant bike / crazy costume race from the starting point at the gate down to the finishing line at(in) the lake - where entrants can swim with the Taniwha. The race will be judged on 3 categories each with places for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

The categories are:

1. Fastest to the lake
2. Best jump/entry into the lake
3. Best costume/transportation.

The Taniwha 200* aims to be a fun event which burners of many different interests can take a part in. It will provide a space for those that like to dress up, as well as a fun way to test out and challenge the increasing number of mutant bikes at Kiwiburn09.*The Taniwha 200 takes in name from the legendary monster that inhabits the lake aka Dave's Mum.

"Almost certainly the biggest and most exciting event on the paddock." - Possum Bourne

The race will be supervised by Skullfuck Empire "Crowd Management Officials" and judged by a (not so)expert panel consisting of three members of the Skullfuck Empire as well as three guest judges from the crowd. So get your teams, bikes, costumes, legs, arms and feet ready...IT'S THE TANIWHA 200!
