So my pretties here it is The Temple for Kiwiburn 2008

It's a combined project with Bruce's original concept and the Merkabah that he is building and a little artistic license by yours truly.....

We will need a hand to construct it on site and then the decorating of the six triangular rooms is up to you, they are a place of reflection and respect so keep it nice...and have fun

Hana, your picture never ceases to crack me up! Very Happy

Folks, we are putting it out to you to come up for decorations for each of these 6 pyramids that are part of the temple. As you can see from the picture,

The space is intimately sized and perfect for an area of spiritual observance, and not too tough for one or a few people to take on as an art project. We are excited to see what you will do with them.

Kiwi has asked me to say a few words about the merkabah, which will be the centrepiece of the temple. As you may have figured out by now, it is tough for me to say just a few words <grin>.

From a practical standpoint, the merkabah will be a cool looking triangle-y thing with a hammock chair hanging inside of it where you can sit and chill.

From a metaphysical standpoint, the shape is of sacred geometry. Further, I will lay Reichian orgone accumulating cables along the wooden framework, to intensify the energetic configuration. In addition, I will have an interactive orgone generator with a variety of different settings with which people may experiment located within the merkabah.

My goal is to provide an opportunity for people to personally experiment with subtle energetic phenomena and see what kind of experiences (or none at all) they have.

Thanks for the positive feedback! The orgone accumulators will really be there just to strengthen the energy configuration of the structure-- they won't be like the classical style accumulators where you sit inside an orgone rich environment, or accumulate it so that you can direct it at something. But the structure will be energetically "reinforced" with cables of a sort made with accumulator principles.

Greetings from Australia! Just stopped by to see what delicious activities are going on. Mighty interesting art/interactive/sculpture. Just curious...are you looking for artwork at the actual event or to take place before?

Hi Celine,

We are looking for people to do something at the actual event.

If you are working on an art project for us you can show up a day or two early, though...

Do you want to raise your hand to decorate one of the temple pyramid rooms? That would be great!

Hey Bruce! Greetings from Australia. I'm catching a flight to Auckland tomorrow and look forward to being in Kiwi Land for a few months =). And yes, I'd love to have a go at sprucing up your beautiful temple pyramid. It sounds fantastic. I'll send you an off line note to coordinate logistics.

Cheers!
Celine

Thanks Celine! That would be great.

I recommend you contact Kiwi, the author of this thread, as he is in the Auckland area and is the fellow coordinating the pyramids. I am more working on the central piece, but just shooting my mouth off about the whole thing at Kiwi's kind invitation.

Bruce just did a test build of the merkabah today with total success. It's going to be a real treat at Kiwiburn. And Kiwi, I'm so stoked by the temple design. I am putting my hand up to design one of the cubbies -- got just the right things for it!

Woo hoo!

What a bunch of rogues!

Good to see David-- I think his spirit is helping animate this project-- stuff is certainly going pretty smooth for me, and I think it is going to be lovely when it's all put together...

Right. Haven’t heard much noise from folks on who wants to decorate cubbies. So here’s a proposal:

It is Burning Man tradition to have the temple be a place of reflection, usually on a particular theme (hope, forgiveness, tears, joy,) where burners can come and write prayers, thoughts, draw art, grieve.

This year at Kiwiburn, we are creating the Temple of Unity which will feature a merkaba at its center and will be surrounded by six smaller pyramid-shaped temples. The merkaba will be difficult to write on, so I’d like to focus the writing/art/prayers on each of the pyramids and for each to have its own theme, all under the big umbrella of unity.

Some possible themes:

Pyramid of Remembrance
Pyramid of Love
Pyramid of Reflection
Pyramid of Happiness
Pyramid of Manifestation
Pyramid of Discovery

Other possibilities: Exploration, Humility, Hope, Joy, Integration, Acknowledgement

The one theme I’m particularly interested in is the Pyramid of Remembrance, dedicated to those who have left the physical world, especially those who have left us in recent months. Astrologically, we are going through some turbulent and changing times which is manifesting through loss: loss of friends, relationships, loved ones, jobs, careers, animal companions. There have been many friends and many burners who have lost loved ones recently, not to mention the departing of the great Sir Ed. I’m planning to create a space to allow for grieving and honoring of these people; however any and all help from others are welcome.

As for the other Pyramids – I/we would love some others to step forward and run with a theme. Bring fabric/paints/decorations whatever. Some art supplies will be available on site.

Any takers? Anyone willing to help out? Celine, you still willing to take on one?

How about putting a whole bunch of bits of paper in the Pyramid of Lurve with a "4" on and people could fill in names, like kids at skool:

Dave 4 Sharon, etc..

Maybe not...
