Auckland Decompression: War of the Worlds

The Robots came and left a path of destruction and mayhem behind them! What’s next? Auckland Burners are hosting a Decompression party that may incite panic!
At midnight on 28 January, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Mt Eden. Across two hundred million miles of void, invisibly hurtling towards us, came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth.
“The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one – but they still come!”
THEME: The War of the Worlds – Earth is being invaded by aliens from Mars! Will you join the human resistance or the alien invasion?
COSTUME: You don’t have to be in theme (but it’s more fun if you are!) so please make an effort. No effort, no entry 😉
ART: The Giant Weta will be making its first appearance in Auckland City! This is a great chance to show your friends and family the awesomeness we create for Kiwiburn.
RENEGADE: The evening will begin with a Renegade Show, this is basically an open mic. Do you have a song, circus act, poem, sideshow act, story, or something so far out you’re not quite sure the world is ready to see it yet, bring it along! We can’t wait to see what you have to offer!
DANCE OFF: As you arrive at the event you will be asked if you are part of the human resistance or the alien invasion. At some point during the night we will play an epic remix of the War of Worlds and both sides will dance off to see who will conquer the world! You will win points for your side with ridiculousness, coordination, and uniqueness, so get thinking about your dance moves.
